Hisbah Arrest Youth Over Hajj Rite Imitation
Says Hajj is a pilgrimage that Allah has assigned to a specific place

The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has taken action after a group of youths in Zuru Local Government Area were found allegedly imitating Hajj rites during the Day of Arafah.
In a statement issued by the Board’s Director of Sharia, Judge Surajo Usman Kamba, the youths were said to have worn ihram clothing and acted in ways resembling pilgrims in Makkah.
Officials said the group was invited for questioning, where they were advised on the correct Islamic teachings regarding Hajj and its strict conditions of time and place.
The Board explained that the pilgrimage is a prescribed act of worship that can only be valid when performed in Makkah during the designated period, stressing that reenacting the rites elsewhere is not recognised in Islam.
After counselling, the youths reportedly admitted their actions were wrong, expressed regret, and pledged not to repeat similar behaviour.
They were later released after giving assurances of good conduct.
The Hisbah Board also cautioned residents, especially young people, to seek proper religious knowledge before engaging in acts of worship.
