The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed that 25 September 2026 remains the final deadline for intending pilgrims to complete payment of the ₦8 million Hajj deposit and register for the 2027 Hajj, warning that no applicant will be allocated a seat after the closing date.

The directive was issued by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, during a meeting with Hajj Centre Officers from the state’s 44 local government areas at the Board’s conference hall in Kano.

Matawalle said the deadline, announced earlier alongside the approved deposit for the 2027 pilgrimage, remains unchanged and would be strictly enforced as preparations for next year’s Hajj gather pace.

He urged all prospective pilgrims to complete their payments and registration before the closing date, stressing that the Board would neither extend the registration period nor make additional Hajj allocations after 25 September.

“The deadline stands,” he told the Hajj officers, urging them to intensify public awareness across their respective local government areas to ensure intending pilgrims do not miss the opportunity to secure a place for the pilgrimage.

The Director General said the Board was committed to delivering a transparent, orderly and well-coordinated Hajj exercise, adding that early registration remained essential to planning and the smooth conduct of the operation.

He also encouraged intending pilgrims to comply with all registration requirements within the stipulated period to avoid disqualification.

The Board has consistently urged early registration as Nigerian Hajj authorities move towards earlier planning cycles in line with evolving arrangements by Saudi authorities for future pilgrimages.
