NAHCON Opens Hajj Service Providers to Pilgrims’ Verdict

Commission invites complaints, commendations and recommendations as post-2026 Hajj review enters accountability phase

By Abdullahi Yusuf

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called on Nigerian pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj and Umrah to submit complaints, commendations and recommendations on services rendered during the pilgrimage, as the Commission begins a comprehensive post-Hajj review that will help shape future operations and influence decisions on the renewal of service providers’ licences.

The move forms part of NAHCON’s statutory oversight of Hajj and Umrah operations and comes as the Commission intensifies efforts to strengthen accountability across Nigeria’s pilgrimage industry following the conclusion of the 2026 exercise.

In a public notice issued by its management, the Commission said pilgrims with concerns or observations about the conduct of any individual, organisation or institution involved in the pilgrimage should forward them for appropriate action.

The review covers services provided by licensed private tour operators, State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, airlines, cargo companies, caterers, accommodation providers and other organisations engaged in Hajj and Umrah operations.

NAHCON said the submissions would help identify service gaps, recognise good performance and guide reforms aimed at improving future Hajj and Umrah operations.

The Commission also indicated that the feedback would play a role in decisions on the renewal of licences issued to service providers, signalling that operators’ performance and compliance with regulatory standards will come under closer scrutiny.”

Beyond complaints, the Commission also invited suggestions and recommendations from stakeholders and members of the public on ways of improving Hajj and Umrah operations in Nigeria.

NAHCON said all complaints, comments and suggestions should include the author’s full address and be addressed to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Plot 991/992 Zakariya Maimalari Street, Central Business District, Abuja, P.M.B. 375, Abuja.

The Commission said submissions may also be sent by email to info@nigeriahajjcom.gov.ng, nahconoperations@gmail.com or nahcon2006info@gmail.com and must be received not later than 31 July 2026.

For enquiries or assistance, the Commission urged pilgrims and other stakeholders requiring further information to contact its Operations Department on 07039059256 or 08074160299, or through its official WhatsApp line, +2349071800007.
