1. The Islamic New Year has begun, marking the arrival of the blessed month of Muharram.
2. Plateau State has officially commenced registration and deposits for the 2027 Hajj, with intending pilgrims required to make an initial deposit of ₦5 million and above pending the announcement of the final fare.
3. The Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has also begun the distribution of five litres of Zamzam water to every pilgrim who participated in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
4. The board confirmed the successful completion of the return airlift of all Plateau pilgrims and appreciated Governor Caleb Mutfwang for supporting the pilgrimage, including the donation of ₦100,000 to each pilgrim.
5. The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has completed the return airlift of its over 1,500 pilgrims to Nigeria, bringing the 2026 Hajj exercise for the territory to a successful close.
6. FCT officials commended the support of the FCT Administration, saying it played a key role in the successful coordination of this year’s Hajj operations.
7. Kaduna State has commenced the return airlift of its pilgrims, with the first batch of 344 pilgrims departing Jeddah for Nigeria after completing the 2026 Hajj rites.
8. Kaduna authorities say arrangements have been put in place with relevant stakeholders to ensure the remaining pilgrims return home safely and smoothly.
9. The Head of Medical Services for Kaduna pilgrims, Professor Bello Jamoh, says no death has been recorded among Kaduna State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
10. According to the medical team, the most common health complaints were body pains and catarrh, while only a few pilgrims required referral to Saudi hospitals for further treatment.
11. Kaduna’s medical team also disclosed that only one pilgrim remains hospitalisedafter undergoing surgery and is recovering steadily.
12. The medical team praised Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna Pilgrims Welfare Agency and healthcare personnel for their support and professionalism throughout the Hajj exercise.

19. Some gates of Masjid al-Haram provide the closest access to the Mataf area where pilgrims perform Tawaf around the Kaaba.
20. Electronic signs in multiple languages guide pilgrims to specific gates, helping reduce congestion during peak prayer and Hajj periods.
21. Different gates often become busier at different times of the day depending on prayer schedules and crowd movement plans implemented by Saudi authorities.
