The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has praised the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for the successful transportation of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

In a statement released on Monday by his spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, the monarch described the operation as well organised and worthy of commendation.

He expressed delight over the hitch-free exercise and prayed for the safety, good health and comfort of all pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land.

The Kwara pilgrims board had earlier confirmed that all 1,714 intending pilgrims from the state were flown to Saudi Arabia through the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin.

Its chairman, Professor Mashood-Mahmud Jimba, also appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for supporting the successful airlift.

The Emir said Hajj remains a sacred gathering that unites Muslims from different parts of the world and strengthens faith, patience and devotion to Allah.

He also urged pilgrims from Kwara to remember the state and the country in prayers, especially for lasting peace and unity.

Sulu-Gambari further applauded the 2026 Amirul Hajj and Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Kpotwa, for providing leadership during the pilgrimage exercise.
