Iran President Thanks Ayatollah Sistani for Support

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed gratitude to Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani for supporting Iran and those affected during the recent conflict involving the United States and Israel.
In a message posted in Arabic on X on Monday, Pezeshkian thanked the Iraqi cleric for what he described as generous support toward the Islamic Republic.
He also praised Ayatollah Sistani’s longstanding solidarity, describing him as a strong voice for oppressed people around the world.
The Iranian president further thanked the people of Iraq for standing with Iran during the crisis.
Ayatollah Sistani, Iraq’s most senior Shia cleric, had earlier condemned the military actions against Iran and called on Muslims and the international community to oppose the conflict.
He also urged influential countries and Muslim nations to work toward ending the aggression.
Reports said the cleric additionally sent a team to Iran to assess damage and offer assistance.
