By Sadiq Abdulfatah

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, has begun his official Hajj-related duties in Makkah ahead of the annual pilgrimage season.

He also chaired a meeting of the Permanent Committee for Fatwas on Sunday, attended by senior members and the committee’s secretary general.

The session reviewed several Islamic legal and religious matters related to Hajj and issued clarifications based on Sharia rulings.

Officials said the move is part of ongoing efforts by the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta to support pilgrims and provide religious guidance during the Hajj season.

The committee’s work is aimed at ensuring clear religious rulings are available to pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage period.
