The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has urged Muslims to take advantage of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah by increasing acts of worship and drawing closer to Allah through righteous deeds.

In a statement, the ministry described the period as one of the most blessed times in Islam, noting that Allah swore by the ten nights in the Holy Qur’an to highlight their importance.

It encouraged Muslims to maintain obligatory prayers, engage in voluntary worship, give more charity, recite the Qur’an, honour parents and strengthen family ties.

The ministry also stressed the importance of fasting during the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, especially the Day of Arafah, whose fast carries great spiritual reward.

Awqaf further encouraged Muslims to increase remembrance of Allah through takbir, tahmid and other supplications during the sacred days.

The statement also highlighted the virtue of Hajj and Eid sacrifice, describing the sacrifice as a strongly recommended Sunnah for those who can afford it.

The ministry called on Muslims everywhere to use the sacred season for sincere repentance, spiritual reflection and increased good deeds.
