PHOTO NEWS: Saudi Embassy Ends 2nd National Qur’an Competition in Abuja

The second National Qur’anic Memorisation and Tafsir Competition organised by the Cultural Attaché Office of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria came to a close on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the National Mosque, Abuja, after five days of competition involving Qur’an memorizers from across Nigeria.

The closing ceremony brought together the Deputy Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, H.E. Ustaz AbdurRahman bin AbdulLateef Al-Tuwaem; Special Guest of Honour, Distinguished Senator Alhaji (Dr) Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto; H.R.H. Alhaji Aliyu Kelvin Danesi II, Aidonogie of South Ibie Kingdom; Islamic scholars, state Musabaqah coordinators, contestants, parents and other invited dignitaries.

The ceremony featured the presentation of prizes to winners across the six male and female categories, with contestants, state coordinators and other participants also taking part in the closing proceedings.
