PHOTO NEWS: Ashraaf Maulid Puts Prophetic Legacy at Heart of 10th Annual Seminar

The 10th Annual Maulid Nabiyy Seminar and Family Funfair of the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation brought together Islamic scholars, public officials, academics, entrepreneurs, community leaders, families and Muslim faithful in Abuja on Saturday, with the preservation of the Prophetic legacy at the centre of the gathering.

Held under the theme, “Inheritance Beyond Wealth: Preserving the Prophetic Legacy in Modern Society,” the seminar at the Maryam Babangida Women Development Centre, CBD, Abuja, examined the meaning of inheritance beyond material possessions and the responsibility of Muslims to preserve and transmit the values, knowledge and traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Saheed Olurotimi Timehin, Professor of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Middle Eastern Studies at Lagos State University, while the Chairman of the occasion was Prof. Sulaimon Abubakar, Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).

The programme also featured Qur’an recitation, Salawāt, Dhikr and Madh, a panel discussion on “What Legacy Are We Leaving Behind? Preserving the Prophetic Inheritance in a Changing World,” recognition of organisations and individuals, a presentation by Ashraaf Estate Advisory Ltd, and the presentation of prizes to winners of the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation Inter-School Quranic Competition.
