Peaceful Stomachs: Debuts

The Throne of Light Foundation (TOLF) in collaboration with PEACE (AS-SALAAM) Magazine has commenced a Ramadan food initiatives “Peaceful Stomachs and Save a Home”. The initiative is scheduled to hold at four locations within Abuja.

The outreach aims according to the organizers are to sensitizing the Ummah on Health and marriage related matters and provide food grains for 25 families. The first outreach took place at Kuje Area Council, with foodstuffs for 25 family individuals.

Speaking at the occasion, Ustaz Yunus Salahudeen welcomes the beneficiaries and also urged each and everyone to pay attention to the lecture prepared to enlighten them. Mr. Abdullah Yusuf, the assistant Editor of PEACE (AS-SALAAM) Magazine, while introducing the Throne of Light Foundation, explained TOLF’s mission which he said: “Throne of Light Foundation” is built on five core pillars and these are: Smart Vocational and Skills Development, Interfaith and Intra-Faith dialogues, Peaceful Stomachs, Save a Home, Celebrating Intelligent Brains under the Veils.

He says: “Our mission is simple but powerful. Today’s Ramadan outreach in Kuje marks our first official community intervention, and by Allah’s permission, we will continue to expand her reach and deepen her impact across communities”. He further states: “When a stomach is peaceful, a home becomes peaceful. And when homes are peaceful, society becomes peaceful.” This outreach is not merely about distributing food items. It is about: Encouraging dignity, Promoting knowledge, supporting family stability, strengthening our mothers, who are the backbones of every home”.

The Chief Imam of Al-Ansar, Ustaz Abdulmajeed Abdulwahab, admonished Muslims to read and understand the contents of Surah Al-Talaq before marriage, as it serves as a guide from the Holy Book. Drawing references from the verses of the Holy Qur’an, he spoke on the fear of Allah (Taqwa). People should consider the level of Taqwa of their spouses before marriage as the prophet has said that, absence of Taqwa in a marriage only attracts trials and mischiefs. He further explained that another factor affecting marriage is comparison, making instances of sibling comparing their spouses to one another as a result of social media influence, urging spouses to always worship Allah together as it brings forth, abundant blessings.

A Medical Practitioner, Dr. Rahmatu Esther Ogar a Muslim revert emphasized on the issue of genotype and blood groups in marriage saying, parents must make it a compulsory requirement in marriages of their children. She mentioned various classifications of genotype, AA, AC, AS, and SS. She says “use two thousand naira to check your genotype and save yourselves from spending million on health matters in the future”. Dr. Rahmatu also encouraged that this kind of information should be shared in mosques, and other Islamic gatherings as it will serve as an eye opener for some people.

Food packages were later presented to twenty five individual family members at the occasion.
