Iran Rejects Claims of Role in Saudi Oil Field Attack

Tehran denies involvement in Ras Tanura incident, says it has informed Riyadh as Gulf tensions escalate

Iran’s deputy foreign minister has denied that Tehran was behind the reported bombing of Saudi oil facilities, amid rising regional tensions.

In comments to CNN, the senior Iranian official said, “We are not responsible for the bombing of Saudi oil fields and we have informed our brothers in the Kingdom of this.”

The statement comes after Saudi authorities reported intercepting drones near oil infrastructure in the eastern city of Ras Tanura, where a small fire broke out following falling debris.

Riyadh has not publicly attributed responsibility for the incident.

The denial adds to the growing diplomatic and military tensions in the Gulf following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent threats of retaliation across the region.
