Ogun Ramadan Lecture Highlights Prophet Leadership Principles

Sheikh Yusuf explains that humility and tolerance are key tools to good governance

Fadeelatu Sheikh Ibrahim Yusuf a missioner of Daru Soliheen Arabic and Islamic Centre urges Nigerian leaders during an annual Ramadan lecture organised by the Ogun state Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako Oloyede to promote humility and tolerance stating that they are the key tools for effective governance.

Speaking on the topic, “Leadership and Followership in Islam: Lessons from the Life of Prophet Muhammad”, Yusuf stated that Prophet Muhammad (SAW), is the perfect model of leadership for Muslims, particularly those occupying positions of authority adding that leaders must follow in the Prophet’s virtues of humility, patience, and tolerance to ensure justice, peace and good governance in society.

According to him, Ramadan is a period for great spiritual reflection and guidance through the ways of the Qur’an and prayed that Allah would grant Muslim faithful the strength to successfully complete the holy month.

While giving her remarks, Salako-Oyedele expressed gratitude to clerics and other Muslims in attendance at the Family’s annual Tafsir and also encourages unity and a shared sense of purpose in Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Ogun State House of Assembly Commission Hon. Suraj Adekunbi while delivering his goodwill message, commended the lecture describing it as an event that upholds spiritual growth, unity and community development among Muslims.

The programme also featured special prayers offered for Nigeria, Ogun State, its leaders, Ota and the entire Aworiland.
