Ilorin Emir Asks Umrah Pilgrims to Pray for Peace in Nigeria

Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council has called on all Nigerians performing Umrah to seek peace and harmony for Nigeria.
He made this call in a Goodwill statement signed by his press secretary Abdulazeez Arowona where he stated that peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and the prevention of breakdown of law and order are key factors that could facilitate the nation’s growth and development.
He said “I urge you all to use this auspicious occasion of the Umrah pilgrimage to intensify fervent prayers for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity at large for the actualisation of global peace amid ongoing tension and insecurity,”.
The emir also urged pilgrims from Kwara State and other Nigerians to conduct themselves responsibly during their stay in Mecca and Medina. He advised them to serve as good ambassadors of the country and avoid any actions that could tarnish Nigeria’s image.
He also extended goodwill messages to the Muslim Ummah intending to perform I’tikaf in Juma’at mosques across the country, praying that Almighty Allah would make the exercise easy for them and grant them acceptance and rewards.
The monarch further prayed for a successful Umrah exercise for the pilgrims, asking God to grant them good health and protect their families back home.
