Nigerian-Canadian Muslims Elect Maruf Adekomaiya as Amir, Announce New Executive Council

The Nigerian Canadian Muslim Congregation Calgary (NCMCC) has ushered in a new era of leadership with the inauguration of Maruf Adekomaiya as Amir (President) and a diverse executive team committed to faith-based service, inclusive governance, and cultural solidarity.
The announcement was made during the group’s Annual General Meeting held at the Nigerian House, where the Head of the Shura Committee (Advisory Council) formally introduced the newly appointed officers who will serve for a two-year term.
The new leadership reflects a deliberate commitment to gender inclusion and youth representation — with women and young professionals appointed to key positions to help drive the community’s mission forward.
