Kuwait Airport Shuts Down After Iran Drone and Missile Attack

Kuwait has suspended all commercial flights after its international airport was hit in a drone and missile attack on Wednesday, according to state media reports.
Authorities said the attack targeted the airport’s passenger terminal, causing damage and leaving several people injured. Emergency teams were deployed immediately, and some flights were diverted for safety.
A defence ministry spokesperson said multiple hostile drones struck parts of the airport building, affecting operations at the facility.
The incident came amid rising tensions in the region following reported exchanges of missile fire between Iran and the United States.
Officials in Kuwait said Terminal 1 sustained significant damage, while medical teams responded to assist those injured in the attack.
In a separate statement, Bahrain said its air defence systems intercepted missiles and drones targeting civilian areas, blaming Iran for the attacks and calling them a violation of international law.
The US military also said it carried out strikes on Iranian targets after earlier attacks in the region, adding that several incoming missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach their targets.
