King Salman Honoured for 60 Years of Qur’an Service

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday received a delegation that came to honour Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his decades-long support for Qur’an memorisation efforts in the Kingdom.
The delegation paid tribute to King Salman’s role in promoting Qur’an teaching and supporting memorisation associations across Saudi Arabia for more than 60 years.
On his behalf, the Crown Prince accepted honorary gifts, including a decorative shield, a handwritten copy of the Qur’an, and plaques recognising the King’s achievements and the work of Qur’an memorisers under the Riyadh-based Maknoon Society.
One of the plaques also carried the names of 21,000 Qur’an memorizers who have benefited from the programme.
The honour was presented in recognition of King Salman’s lifelong dedication to the Qur’an and his continued support for Islamic education and related initiatives.
The Crown Prince praised Qur’an memorisation associations in the Kingdom for their efforts in serving the holy book and contributing to the growth of the non-profit sector.
He also highlighted their role in supporting national efforts to promote Islamic values and religious education.
