Iran Says It Will Block US Weapons from Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s army has warned that it will no longer allow US weapons to pass through the Strait of Hormuz into regional military bases, saying the key waterway is now under Iranian strategic control.

Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said on Wednesday that any country wishing to use the route must do so under Iranian military supervision.

“From now on, we will not allow American weapons to transit the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

He added that Iran’s armed forces control different sections of the strait through coordinated operations between the Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.

Akraminia said this system strengthens Iran’s surveillance and regional control, while also supporting national interests.

He also claimed Iran’s military has maintained strong defensive and offensive capability despite years of pressure and conflict.

In a separate statement, an IRGC Navy official warned the United States against any military action in the Gulf, saying Iran would respond strongly to any threat.

Tensions remain high in the region following months of confrontation involving Iran, the US and its allies, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route.
