Jordan Awqaf Minister Orders Top Care for Pilgrims

Jordan’s Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, has called on all official teams accompanying this year’s Hajj pilgrims to provide the best possible care and service to Jordanian pilgrims.
He made the remarks on Thursday during a meeting at King Abdullah I Mosque with administrative, medical, religious guidance and media delegations preparing for the upcoming Hajj season.
The minister said the ministry has mobilised all available resources in coordination with the medical mission to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.
He noted that medicines and medical supplies have been prepared, while special attention will be given to elderly pilgrims through regular monitoring to prevent heat exhaustion and manage crowd-related risks.
Al-Khalayleh also stressed the importance of responsible media coverage, urging official teams to present accurate information and respect rules governing filming and publication in order to maintain credibility.
He reminded all participants of the need to fully observe the laws and regulations of Saudi Arabia, saying the scale of Hajj requires discipline and cooperation.
The minister said a full operational plan has been prepared, covering organisational, health and guidance services from the pilgrims’ departure until their safe return home.
He also announced the launch of several digital platforms, including the Jordanian Pilgrim app, Wafd Al-Rahman Jordan app for pilgrims, and a separate supervisors’ app for management teams.
According to officials, the apps will provide prayer times based on location, pilgrim and supervisor data, health and administrative alerts, and a system for submitting complaints or feedback for quick resolution.
Al-Khalayleh said the first Jordanian pilgrim convoys will depart next Wednesday from the Giza area south of Amman, with departures taking place in organised stages to ensure smooth travel.
Director General of Hajj and Umrah, Majdi Al-Batoush, said the timetable was designed with border traffic and hotel arrangements in Madinah in mind.
He added that Jordan’s Hajj mission has earned recognition in previous years for strong organisation and cooperation with Saudi authorities and service providers.
