Endowment Authority Celebrates Yemen’s Entry Into Islam at the Great Mosque in Sana’a

The General Authority for Endowments office in Sana’a marked the anniversary of Yemen’s historic entry into Islam with a grand celebration at the Great Mosque. The event, themed “With Our Faith Identity and Qur’anic March, We Will Confront Global Zionism,” reflected Yemen’s enduring connection to Islam and its role in the global Islamic community.

First Deputy Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah extended his congratulations to Yemenis on this significant religious occasion. He emphasized that Yemen’s entry into Islam remains a profound milestone, not just for Yemen but for Muslims worldwide. Allama Muftah praised Yemen’s unwavering support for Islam and its honorable stance in defending Palestine against Zionist aggression, especially amidst widespread Arab and Islamic silence.

Allama Abdulmajid Al-Houthi, head of the General Authority for Endowments, highlighted Yemen’s deep-rooted relationship with Islam, describing Yemenis as steadfast supporters of the faith since its earliest days. He affirmed that this bond has shaped their spiritual and historical identity, with Yemenis playing key roles in upholding Islamic values throughout history.

Allama Muftah also reflected on the significance of Rajab Friday, commemorating the momentous occasion when the people of Yemen embraced Islam at the hands of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib. This event, he noted, remains etched in the hearts of Yemenis as a testament to their spiritual legacy.

The celebration featured speeches by prominent figures, including Allama Muhammad al-Bashiq of the Yemeni Scholars Association and activist Dr. Abdullah al-Ahnoumi. They discussed the virtues of Yemen’s early adoption of Islam, their loyalty to the Prophet’s family (Ahl al-Bayt), and how the nation’s leadership continues to steer them away from dependence on oppressive forces.

The event was a vibrant expression of faith and identity, reaffirming Yemen’s enduring commitment to Islam and its principles.
