Eid Adha: NASFAT, extends warm greetings to Nigerian Muslims

The President of the Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria, (NASFAT), has called on Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to embrace the values of sacrifice, compassion and peaceful coexistence as millions celebrate Eid al-Adha amid continuing global conflicts and economic hardship.
In an Eid message released ahead of the celebrations, NASFAT President Alhaji Ayodeji Abdulrauf said the Islamic festival should serve as a period of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to humanity, particularly at a time when many communities are facing insecurity, displacement and financial difficulties.
He said the occasion coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, where millions of Muslims from around the world have gathered for the sacred rites in and around Mecca, describing the pilgrimage as a symbol of unity, faith and devotion that transcends race, nationality and social background.
The organisation also highlighted its humanitarian interventions during the festive period, including the distribution of sacrificial rams and financial support to vulnerable communities within and outside Nigeria. NASFAT further commended the role of its travel agency, Tafsan Tours and Travel Limited, in facilitating Hajj and Umrah operations for Nigerian Muslims.
The group expressed concern over growing insecurity, economic hardship and violent conflicts affecting populations across parts of Nigeria and the wider world, including Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, while calling for peaceful resolutions, humanitarian support and protection of human dignity.

On behalf of the stakeholders and members of NASFAT, I extend warm greetings to Nigerian Muslims and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. May this sacred celebration bring peace, blessings, and renewed faith to all.
Eid al-Adha is a season of prayer, reflection, sacrifice, and gratitude. It is a period when Muslims gather with family and friends, share festive meals, support the less privileged, and commemorate the spiritual significance of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. In the spirit of generosity and compassion, NASFAT has distributed numerous rams and cash gifts to various communities within and outside Nigeria. Furthermore, NASFAT’s travel agency, Tafsan Tours and Travel Limited, has continued to distinguish itself as a reliable reference point in providing quality Hajj and Umrah services for Muslims.
This year, more than two million Muslims from different parts of the world are participating in the sacred Hajj pilgrimage. The exercise remains a remarkable symbol of unity, faith, and devotion, bringing together Muslims from every race, culture, and social background. We pray that Allah grants all pilgrims Hajj Mabroor and safe return to their respective homes.
The Hajj and Eid al-Adha celebrations remind humanity of equality before Almighty Allah and the enduring importance of charity, community service, and compassion. These values resonate strongly with the Nigerian spirit. Nigeria is blessed with millions of Muslims who continue to contribute immensely to national development in sectors such as medicine, technology, education, public service, commerce, and the arts. Nigerian Muslims remain an integral part of our national fabric, contributing meaningfully to the growth, peace, and productivity of the nation.
However, this year’s Eid comes at a particularly difficult period for many Nigerians due to persistent insecurity, kidnappings, killings, communal attacks, and widespread economic hardship. Across the world, innocent civilians in places such as Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Iran, and other troubled regions continue to suffer the devastating consequences of war and conflict. Thousands of lives, including those of children, have been lost, while countless families have been displaced and communities destroyed.
NASFAT remains committed to advocating for peace, dialogue, humanitarian assistance, and the protection of human dignity across the globe. We support every genuine effort aimed at securing peace, the release of hostages, and the pursuit of lasting solutions to conflicts, particularly in Palestine and Israel. We also continue to call for peaceful resolutions to the crises in Sudan and other regions affected by violence and instability.
In the same spirit, we stand in solidarity with oppressed Muslim communities around the world, including the Rohingya in Myanmar and the Uyghurs in the People’s Republic of China, who continue to face persecution and hardship. Every human being deserves to live in peace, dignity, and freedom from fear and violence.
As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, let us renew our commitment to the values that unite us as people of faith and humanity — compassion, empathy, tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. We also look forward to welcoming home our Nigerian pilgrims who have earned the honourable title of “Al-Hajj.”
