1. About 400 pilgrims from the US, France, Italy, and Germany arrived in Makkah yesterday to perform Hajj.

2. Saudi Arabia has turned away over 300,000 people without permits from Makkah. Those turned away include 153,998 foreigners who travelled from abroad on tourist visas only and 171,587 others who are based in Saudi Arabia but are not residents of Mecca and did not have hajj permits.

3. More than 1.3 million pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia for the hajj as of Saturday 8, June 2024.

4. Research at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) has shown the effectiveness of preventive measures taken to protect pilgrims from health risks associated with high temperatures during Hajj. It showed 74.6% reduction in heat stroke cases and a 47.6% decrease in mortality rates during the Hajj season.

5. A medical team at King Salman bin Abdulaziz Medical City in Al Madīnah has successfully removed a tumor in the brain of an Indonesian pilgrim in her sixties.

6. Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has indicated readiness to serve pilgrims. It has mobilized 96 workers to serve in its medical evacuation teams.

7. Saudi Ministry of Interior has apprehended 21 individuals, eight residents and 13 Saudi citizens, who violated Hajj regulations and transported 61 individuals who attempted to perform Hajj without a permit. The ministry promises strict sanctions against them while also urging residents and citizens comply with Hajj regulations.

8. Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has announced readiness of the electrical grid in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites for the Hajj season 1445 AH. The facilities will be maintained by 2,673 highly qualified national engineers, technicians, and specialists.

9. The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, in collaboration with a local telecommunications company, has presented mobile SIM cards as a gift to pilgrims. These SIM cards offer internet and calling services, enabling pilgrims to stay connected with their families during their journey.

10. Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais will be the Imām to lead the Eīd ul Adhā prayer and deliver the Eīd sermon at the Masjidil Harām in Makkah while Sheikh Dr. Khalid Al-Muhanna will be the Imām leading the Eid Al-Adha prayer and deliver the Eid sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque in Al Madīnah.

11. Saudi Embassy in South Africa, bids farewell today to the pilgrims who are hosted as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah and Visit to perform Hajj rituals this year 1445 AH.

12. The Transport General Authority (TGA) in Saudi Arabia has deployed an advanced version of virtual glasses for the upcoming 1445 Hajj season. These virtual glasses will allow field inspectors to conduct swift and comprehensive checks within just six seconds.

13. Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has welcomed so far 494 guests from 51 countries as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit. 34 pilgrims from 4 countries arrived on Friday while 460 arrived from 47 countries on Saturday.

14. Saudi Interior Ministry held a press conference yesterday 8 June 2024 for the Hajj Security Forces commanders. Security chiefs vow to protect Hajj from any breaches.

15. The Grand Hajj Symposium sponsored by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah will begin next Monday 10th of June in Makkah. The symposium which is the 48th edition will host 500 attendees, including scholars and thinkers from the Islamic world.

16. A FlyNas flight departed Minna to Al Madīnah before dawn at 3:53AM with 430 Niger pilgrims.

17. A Max Air flight departed Katsina to Al Madīnah at exactly 7:00AM with the last batch of 550 pilgrims and 5 officials from Katsina State.

18. The first batch of Katsina State pilgrims will start moving from Madinah to the Holy city of Makkah after spending 5 days in Al Madīnah as last batch arrives.

19. NAHCON has transported 50,233 Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in 119 flights.
