Anwar, MWL Chief Discuss Global Conflicts and Muslim Welfare

Talks focus on humanitarian concerns and upcoming global religious conference

Malaysia’s Prime Minister received the Secretary-General of the , Fadhilatus Syeikh Dr Abdul Karim Al-Essa, and his delegation during a two-day working visit to the country.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Anwar said the meeting focused on several international issues, including the situation of Muslim communities in different parts of the world who are facing the effects of war and oppression.

He noted that discussions also touched on the need to protect and support Muslims across various regions, especially those affected by ongoing conflicts and humanitarian challenges.

During the meeting, Dr Al-Essa, who also chairs an international body of Islamic scholars, highlighted preparations for the World Conference of Religious Scholars and representatives of different faiths, scheduled to take place on June 12 in the capital. The event is expected to bring together scholars and leaders to promote dialogue and mutual understanding.

Anwar expressed hope that the efforts and initiatives of the Muslim World League in supporting Islam, the Muslim community, and global humanitarian causes would continue to succeed and receive blessings.

The meeting reflects ongoing engagement between Malaysia and international Islamic organisations in addressing global challenges and strengthening cooperation on issues affecting Muslim communities worldwide.
