VP Shettima Summons NAHCON Board for Briefing on Hajj 2025 Operations

Vice President calls for full operational update as Nigeria prepares for next pilgrimage season

Vice President Kashim Shettima has summoned the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, alongside all board members, to a high-level briefing on the country’s preparedness for the 2025 Hajj.

According to an official letter dated April 17, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., at the Vice President’s Conference Room.

The directive specifically instructs the NAHCON Chairman to present a comprehensive report on operational readiness for the upcoming Hajj season and to ensure the full board is in attendance.

This move signals a renewed push by the federal government to streamline logistics and oversight ahead of what is expected to be a critical pilgrimage season for Nigerian pilgrims.
