Vice President Shettima Performs Umrah, Prays for Nigeria’s Peace and Stability

Vice President Kashim Shettima has completed the lesser Hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia, where he offered prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Nigeria.

In a statement issued by Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, Shettima’s prayers focused on seeking divine guidance for Nigeria’s leaders and citizens.

During his spiritual journey, the Vice President prayed for peace to prevail across the nation, stating, “Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony.”

He also prayed for wisdom, patience, and generosity for Nigeria’s leaders, from the President to local councillors, asking Allah to grant them the qualities of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in all their actions. “May Allah grant us the wisdom to rule our nation well and govern our people justly,” he added.

Shettima further prayed for peace, tranquility, and prosperity in Nigeria, expressing hope that the prayers would be answered by Allah.

Additionally, the Vice President’s scheduled meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah has been rescheduled for a later date.
