Trump Says Iran May Need 20 Years to Recover

U.S. President Donald Trump has said Iran could take up to 20 years to rebuild after the recent military campaign carried out by the United States and Israel.
Trump made the remarks during an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, according to AzerNEWS.
He said that if current conditions remain unchanged, Iran would need decades to recover and would not return to its previous state.
The comments refer to the conflict that began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, including attacks on major cities such as Tehran.
The White House said the operation was aimed at addressing missile and nuclear threats linked to the Islamic Republic.
Reports from the conflict said Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior officials were killed during the strikes.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a major retaliatory campaign against Israel.
Iran also launched attacks on U.S. facilities in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Syria using missiles, drones and other weapons systems.
The conflict placed pressure on regional energy infrastructure and shipping routes, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, where tensions pushed global oil prices higher.
On April 7, reports said Washington and Tehran agreed to a temporary two-week ceasefire intended to reduce hostilities and create room for negotiations.
