PHOTO NEWS: NSCIA Prays for Nigeria at National Mosque in Abuja

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) on Wednesday held a Special National Prayer for Nigeria at the National Mosque Complex, Abuja, bringing together Islamic scholars, imams, traditional leaders and Muslim representatives from different parts of the country.

The prayer, held ahead of Nigeria’s Independence anniversary, formed the first part of a two-day programme convened by the Council under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar. Religious leaders offered special prayers and supplications for peace, security, unity, stability and relief from the difficulties confronting the nation.

The gathering drew prominent Muslim scholars, clerics and traditional leaders, with several imams leading special prayers for Nigeria and its people. The event brought together representatives from different parts of the country for a collective call for peace, stability and divine intervention.

The Council’s programme continues on Thursday, October 1, with its General Assembly at the National Mosque Complex, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Assembly, the NSCIA’s broadest consultative gathering, will bring together Muslim public office holders, representatives of State Councils for Islamic Affairs, Islamic organisations and other members and stakeholders of the Council.
