The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have moved to strengthen their collaboration on security and the safety of Nigerian pilgrims during future Hajj operations.
The commitment was reaffirmed on Wednesday, October 7, when the Commandant General of the NSCDC, CG Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at Hajj House, Abuja.

The meeting provided an opportunity for discussions on strengthening the existing partnership between the two institutions, particularly in security, crowd movement management and pilgrim safety.
The two sides also discussed effective coordination during Hajj operations to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Audi commended the leadership of Ambassador Yusuf and the ongoing reforms being undertaken by NAHCON towards repositioning the Nigerian Hajj industry.
He assured the Commission of the NSCDC’s continued support and cooperation.
Responding, the NAHCON Chairman appreciated the Commandant General for the visit and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening the partnership with the NSCDC.
He said the collaboration was in the interest of Nigerian pilgrims and would support the success, safety and smooth conduct of future Hajj operations.
The statement was signed by Shafii Sani Mohammed, Head of the Information and Publications Division of NAHCON.
