Lesser Hajj: Vice President Shettima Returns to Abuja

Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after performing the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President.

During his visit to the holy site, Shettima offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and progress. He also sought divine guidance for the country’s leadership at all levels, from federal to local governments.

“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” Shettima prayed.

Nkwocha also highlighted that before embarking on the spiritual journey, the Vice President had represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Resources Limited (OERL) in Dubai, UAE.

The Vice President’s spiritual mission underscores his commitment to seeking divine intervention for the nation’s challenges while fulfilling his official duties on the global stage.
