KSrelief launched 24 support schemes in Somalia

24 humanitarian relief projects worth a combined SR171.8 million ($45.8 million) were initiated in Somalia on Sunday by the Saudi charitable organization KSrelief.
KSrelief’s general supervisor, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah flew to Somalia on Sunday with his delegation in tow for the event marking the start of the projects, which include several areas including volunteer work, healthcare, food security, water and environmental cleanliness, shelter security, and education. It is projected that over 5.8 million individuals nationwide will gain from the programs.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor general of KSrelief, told Arab News, “I’m delighted and glad to be here in Mogadishu… and launching significant projects… in areas which are very important for the people of Somalia.”
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, Minister of Health Ali Haji Aden, and Minister of Education Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir were among the Somali officials present at the occasion.
In attendance were George Conway, the UN deputy special envoy for Somalia, and Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia.
During his statement, Barre congratulated KSrelief and referred to it as a model organization for aid, food security, and health.
