Kano Governor Donates N2 Million to Islamic School

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has donated N2 million to Mu’assasatu Balarabe Bello Hamza Islamic School in Kano. The donation was announced during the Qur’anic graduation ceremony of 13 students held on Sunday at the school premises on Sokoto Road.

Represented by the Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna Makoda, the governor emphasized the importance of learning and living by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. He congratulated the graduating students, their parents, and teachers for achieving this significant milestone and encouraged them to broaden their knowledge beyond religious studies.

A statement by Usman Gwadabe, Director of Public Enlightenment at Kano Government House, disclosed that certificates were presented to the 13 graduates during the event.

Mallam Jamilu Yusha’u, the Head Teacher, highlighted the legacy of the school’s founder, the late Balarabe Bello Hamza, who established it to provide extra lessons for children during holidays. He prayed for Allah’s mercy and blessings upon the founder, acknowledging his lasting contributions to education and humanity.

The Director-General of Protocol, Kano Government House, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo, expressed gratitude on behalf of the parents and school authorities. He commended Governor Yusuf’s commitment to supporting education in the state, stating, “This generous donation and your administration’s dedication to improving the educational sector are highly appreciated.”

The event underscored the governor’s focus on promoting both religious and formal education as a cornerstone of development in Kano State.
