Information Minister Commissions School, Mosque, and Water Projects in Niger State

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has urged Nigerians to remain optimistic, assuring that the economic reforms initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will yield positive results in the near future.

Speaking during the commissioning of several community projects in his hometown of Malagi, Gbako Local Government Area, Niger State, the Minister emphasized the long-term benefits of the administration’s policies.

The commissioned projects include an Islamiyya school, a newly built Jumaat mosque, electrification and water projects, as well as the inspection of a remodelled primary school in the community.

Alhaji Idris highlighted that the Tinubu administration’s reforms aim to place Nigeria on a path to sustainable prosperity.

“The progressive train of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not leave anyone behind. Reforms are challenging, but they are essential for our nation’s transformation. By this time next year, Nigerians will begin to see the fruits of these reforms, with 2025 marking a year of consolidation for all the gains,” the Minister said.

He explained that the construction of the Islamiyya school and mosque was designed to enhance religious education, promote peace, and foster unity among the community. While acknowledging the high expectations from his constituents, he assured them that projects would be executed progressively.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, who was also present at the event, reiterated his administration’s commitment to rural transformation. He outlined ongoing efforts to improve access to rural infrastructure, including the construction of rural roads and markets to support agricultural productivity.

The governor announced that contracts for several kilometres of rural roads had been awarded to facilitate the movement of goods and farm produce. He also promised to complete the community’s Primary Healthcare Centre, establish a rural market, and upgrade the local primary school to a Junior Secondary School to improve access to education.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, called on elected officials to prioritize the development of their communities.

Meanwhile, residents of the area appealed for the construction of a feeder road connecting Beji in Bosso Local Government Area to Jangara in Gbako Local Government Area, highlighting the urgent need for improved road infrastructure in the region.

This development reflects the administration’s efforts to address grassroots challenges while positioning the nation for long-term economic growth.
