Golden Words of Allah (episode 26)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. All perfect praise be to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, (PBUH), is His slave and Messenger.

Allah says concerning; the order of creation

Introduction
The story of creation in Islam is a profound testament to the unparalleled power and wisdom of Allah, the Creator of all that exists. The Quran meticulously outlines the stages of creation, from the heavens and the earth to the intricate balance that sustains life. Each element was brought into existence with purpose and precision, serving as a sign for those who reflect. Complemented by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Islamic narrative of creation emphasizes the grandeur of Allah’s design, urging humanity to acknowledge His sovereignty and fulfill their role as stewards of the earth. This understanding not only strengthens faith but also inspires awe and gratitude for the beauty and order of Allah’s creation.

1. The Creation of the Heavens and the Earth
The Quran emphasizes that the heavens and the earth were created as a unified entity and later separated.
Quranic reference: “Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing?” Surah Al-Anbiya (21:30).
“He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six Days…” Surah Hud (11:7).
Hadith reference: Narrated by Abu Hurairah, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, created the clay on Saturday, and He created the mountains on Sunday, and He created the trees on Monday, and He created the things entailing labor on Tuesday, and He created light on Wednesday, and He caused the animals to spread on Thursday, and He created Adam after ‘Asr on Friday, the last creation at the last hour of Friday, between afternoon and night.” Sahih Muslim, Book 39, Hadith 6707

 2. The Sky as a Protective Canopy
The Quran highlights the perfection and purpose of the skies.
Quranic reference: “And We built the sky with might, and indeed, We are its expander.” Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:47)“And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.”Surah Al-Anbiya (21:32).
Hadith reference: Abu Dharr reported, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Do you know how vast the distance is between the earth and the heaven? It is a distance of five hundred years. And between one heaven and the next is a distance of five hundred years.” Sunan Abi Dawood, Book 40, Hadith 4723

3. The Earth Spread Out and Stabilized
After the creation of the heavens, Allah spread the earth and anchored it with mountains.
Quranic reference: “And after that, He spread the earth. He brought forth from it its water and its pasture and set the mountains firmly.” Surah An-Nazi’at (79:30–32).
Hadith reference: Anas ibn Malik reported, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When Allah created the earth, it began to quake, so He created the mountains, and they stabilized it. The angels marveled at the strength of the mountains, but Allah said, ‘There is something stronger than them: iron.’ Then He mentioned fire, water, wind, and finally, the son of Adam who masters all of these. Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 3369

 4. The Creation of Water as the Source of Life
Water is described as essential to all living beings.
Quranic reference: “And We made from water every living thing. Then will they not believe?” Surah Al-Anbiya (21:30).
Hadith reference: Abu Hurairah reported, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“The right of a Muslim upon another Muslim is six… one of them is that he provides water to the thirsty.” Sahih Muslim, Book 39, Hadith 2162

 5. The Creation of the Sun, Moon, and Stars
The Quran describes the roles of celestial bodies in sustaining life and guiding humanity.
Quranic reference: “It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases…” Surah Yunus (10:5).
“And He placed on the earth firmly set mountains… and He made the stars for you to guide you through the darkness of the land and sea.” Surah An-Nahl (16:15–16).
Hadith reference: It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Do you know where the sun goes? It goes and prostrates under the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted.” Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 60, Hadith 326.
“The stars are a source of guidance in the darkness of the land and sea, and as adornments for the heavens.” Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 11547.

 6. The Creation of Vegetation and Sustenance
The earth was then adorned with plants, fruits, and provisions for all living beings.
Quranic reference: “And We sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest.” Surah Qaf (50:9).
“Then let mankind look at their food: how We poured down water in torrents, then We broke open the earth, splitting it with sprouts, and caused to grow within it grain and grapes and herbage.” Surah Abasa (80:24–29).
Hadith reference: Anas ibn Malik reported, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If the Hour is about to be established and one of you has a sapling in his hand, he should plant it.” Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 523

 7. The Creation of Humans and Jinn
Humans were created last, making them the pinnacle of creation.
Quranic reference: “And We have certainly created man from an extract of clay.” Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:12).
“And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.” Surah Al-Hijr (15:27).
Hadith reference: Narrated by Abu Hurairah, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah created Adam in His image… When He had breathed into him, He commanded the angels to prostrate to him.” Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 60, Hadith 252

Regarding Jinn, the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned: “The angels were created from light, the Jinn were created from smokeless fire, and Adam was created from what has been described to you.” Sahih Muslim, Book 50, Hadith 7134

 8. The Balance and Order of Creation
The Quran frequently mentions the meticulous balance in creation.
“And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance.” Surah Ar-Rahman (55:7).
Hadith reference: Abu Hurairah narrated, The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “Verily, Allah has decreed the measures of all things fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth.” Sahih Muslim, Book 39, Hadith 6416

Conclusion
The Quran’s account of creation reveals the deliberate and harmonious process by which Allah brought the universe into existence. From the heavens and the earth to humanity and the natural world, every stage reflects Allah’s infinite wisdom, power, and purpose. The interconnectedness of creation reminds us of our dependency on Allah’s mercy and the importance of fulfilling our role as stewards of the earth. Through reflection on these divine signs, we are called to worship the Creator, live responsibly, and appreciate the balance and beauty of the world around us. Creation is not only a sign of Allah’s greatness but also a reminder of the accountability awaiting us in the Hereafter.
