Golden Words of Allah

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. All perfect praise be to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Allah says concerning; Signs of Nature (Ayat)

The Quran frequently refers to signs of nature as evidence of Allah’s existence, power, and wisdom. These signs (known as Ayat) are presented as reminders for people to reflect upon.

1. Creation of the Heavens and the Earth:
The alternation of day and night, the sun, moon, and stars are described as signs for those who reflect.
Quranic reference: “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, are signs for those of understanding.” (Quran 3:190).
Hadith reference: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have said: “There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.” (Sahih Bukhari, 6412).

2. Rain and Vegetation:
The Quran speaks about the miracle of rain, which revives dead earth, producing plants and crops as sustenance for humans and animals.
Quranic reference: “And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest.” (Quran 50:9).
Hadith reference: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The best charity is to give water to drink.” (Ahmad, 17253). This reflects how rain, a gift from Allah, not only sustains life but can also be a form of charity when shared with others, symbolizing mercy.

3. The Wind:
The wind is described as one of the signs, both in its ability to carry rain and in the way it facilitates travel by sea.
Quranic reference: “And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water.” (Quran 25:48).
Hadith reference: In a Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught believers to respond to winds by saying: “O Allah, I ask You for its goodness, the good within it, and the good it is sent with, and I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil it is sent with.” (Sahih Muslim, 899).

4. Birds in Flight:
The ability of birds to fly and glide in the air is described as a sign of God’s control over all things.
Quranic reference: “Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.” (Quran 16:79)
Hadith reference: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: If you were to rely upon Allah with reliance due to Him, He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds: They go out in the morning with empty stomachs and come back full.” (Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, 2344).

5. The Human Body:
The creation of humans, with their complex anatomy and senses, is described as a profound sign of God’s craftsmanship. Quranic reference: “And in yourselves, then will you not see?” (Quran 51:21).

Hadith reference: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The human being does not fill any container that is worse than his stomach. A few mouthfuls are sufficient for the son of Adam to keep him alive. If he must fill it, then one-third for food, one-third for drink, and one-third for air.”* (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2380).

Conclusion:
Through these signs, the Quran invites believers to see beyond the surface of the physical world and recognize the divine wisdom that underlies all of creation. Whether it is the movement of the stars, the fall of rain, or the flight of birds, each element of nature serves as a reminder of Allah’s presence and power. By reflecting on these signs, one can deepen their faith, cultivate gratitude, and find greater connection with the Creator.
