1. The Madinah Municipality launched yesterday an initiative to distribute umbrellas to protect the guests of God and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque from the harm of the sun’s exposure.

2. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah , in cooperation with the Saudi National Bank, launched yesterday the first international digital wallet (NUSUK) of its kind in the world to serve Umrah and Hajj pilgrims.

3. The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Makkah has declared the level of readiness in Mina to receive pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj exercise. It has adopted several measures to maintain their safety, reduced risks in the Hajj camp to the barest minimum and coordinated with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.

4. The Prophet’s Mosque in Al Madīnah receives a 24 hour strict maintenance from the authorities. The floors of the mosque, its courtyards, and its roof are washed five times daily. The floors and carpets are perfumed with the finest types of Madinah roses. This also includes the cleaning and sanitization of 25,000 carpets daily. The mosque’s facilities and restrooms are disinfected and sanitized five times a day. Additionally, there is a special unit in place for the maintenance and care of the umbrellas, air conditioning vents, and walls, which operate around the clock

5. Saudi authorities have designated 19 locations and courtyards within the Haram in Makkah to address questions from pilgrims during this year’s Hajj exercise. They are 12 sites inside the Grand Mosque and seven cabins in the surrounding squares. 65 qualified personnel, including judges and university faculty members, will take on this role and answer pilgrims inquiries through a 24 hour routine. This is to prevent pilgrims falling victims of individuals issuing religious fatwas without proper knowledge.

6. The Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University has assigned more than 50 researchers and 400 data collectors for this year’s Hajj season. They will analyze and conduct studies in fields such as technology and artificial intelligence, crowd management, urban planning, environment, health all related to the Hajj 2024 exercise.

7. Al-Zamazima Company has so far distributed more than 32 million bottles of Zamzam water to pilgrims in Makkah. This was delivered at entry points, pilgrims residences, guidance centers and all locations where pilgrims are present.

8. The Transport General Authority announced the provision of more than 5,000 taxis in Makkah to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season of 1445 AH. The licensed taxis are equipped with the latest technologies to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for pilgrims while allowing easy and secure access to the Holy Mosque and central areas.

9. An NGO in Al Madīnah Wifada Volunteer Association for Madinah Visitors Service has launched a water distribution initiative, which will last for two weeks. The initiative is one of the prominent projects carried out by the association, with an expected plan to distribute 5.7 million water bottles to pilgrims in Al Madīnah.

10. King Fahd Hospital in Al Madīnah has set up a kidney dialysis unit for pilgrims as part of its efforts to provide distinguished health services to pilgrims.The unit is equipped with 11 dialysis machines able to perform 22 dialysis sessions per day. 106 pilgrims have benefitted from these dialysis sessions.

11. The Roads General Authority has finished coating the 25,000 Square meters asphalt around the Namira Mosque at Arafah. The surface-cooling coat created using locally manufactured materials will absorb less sunlight, and reduce the surface temperature by about 20 degrees Celsius.

12. The Jeddah Municipality, with meticulous planning and preparation, has readied over 4,995 workers and supervisors and allocated 760 pieces of equipment to implement the comprehensive cleaning service plan for the Hajj season 1445 AH.

13. Governor Uba Sani has commended officials of NAHCON and the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for their diligence in ensuring the success of the 2024 Hajj and making sure that the pilgrims get value for their money during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

14. Kaduna joins the list of states that have completed airlift.

15. Pilgrims from the South-South will be airlifted at a go.

16. A MaxAir flight carrying the last batch of 388 Kaduna State pilgrims left for Al Madīnah at 11:24AM.

17. The 95th NAHCON flight carrying 424 pilgrims from Niger state departed Minna to Al Madīnah at 1:40PM.

18. More than 40,000 Nigerian pilgrims have been airlifted by NAHCON in 21 days.
