1. Hajj begins today Yaumut Tarwiyah 8th of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 (June 14, 2024) as pilgrims begin the march to Muna.

2. Shaykh Māhir Al Muayqly, a famous Qur’ān reciter and Imām at the Masjidil Harām in Makkah will deliver the Yaumul ‘Arafah sermon tomorrow at the Namrah Mosque in Arafah.

3. The Health Services of the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the provision of air ambulance service to cover the areas of the holy sites during Hajj season. It has equipped emergency plane hospitals, including operating, recovery and intensive care rooms, laboratories, radiology units, and oxygen machines that work for 4 hours inside the plane.

4. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has announced that the service committees have readied the pilgrims’ headquarters in the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah to receive the 3,322 pilgrims from 88 countries performing this year’s Hajj under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program.

5. More than 93,000 pilgrims have benefited from the various health services provided by the Saudi Ministry of Health over the last five weeks. As many as 19 open heart surgeries, 218 cardiac catheterizations, and 676 dialysis treatment were performed from the 1st of Dhul Qa’adah till the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah. Additionally 2,022 pilgrims were admitted to hospitals and medical centers.

6. The Saudi Red Crescent Authority successfully saved an African pilgrim in his sixties suffering from chest pain during Hajj 1445 AH. This marks the first emergency case transported by air ambulance from the Clock Tower landing pad near the Grand Mosque to King Abdullah Medical City.

7. Dr Abdur Rahmān Sudais ordered that all Friday sermons and prayers today at the Masjidil Harām and the Prophet’s Mosque in Makkah and Al Madīnah should be shortened due to the current extreme heat in Saudi Arabia.

8. Saudi Ministry of Health announced that 99% of domestic pilgrims had received the required vaccines needed for the 1445 AH Hajj season while the permits of 150 pilgrims were canceled by relevant authorities due to incomplete vaccinations.

9. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in the Madinah region has distributed over 237,000 copies of books and publications offering guidance in matters of Hajj in several languages to pilgrims and visitors during the pre-Hajj season.

10. Security forces stationed at the entrances to Makkah have caught another 18 individuals who violated the Hajj regulations by transporting yesterday June 13, a group of 91 individuals who attempted to perform Hajj without a permit.

11. Makkah witnessed its highest-ever electrical load yesterday, reaching 5,361 megawatts. This marks a 20% increase compared to the same day last year (4,451 megawatts).8 Thul-Hijjah 1445 – June 14, 2024.

12. 2,000 media professionals currently from local and international media outlets from 150 are currently in Makkah covering this year’s Hajj exercise.

13. A 24-hour care service has been launched for children accompanying their parents who are engaged in Hajj at the Masjidil Harām in Makkah. Special boarding houses were installed in the vicinity of the Grand Mosque with a total capacity to accommodate 50 children. The centers which began from Dhul-Hijjah 3 will last till Dhul-Hijjah 14 receives girls from 1 to 10 years old and boys from 1 to 8 years old.

15. Nigerian pilgrims leave Makkah for Mina yesterday night to begin the first leg of this year’s Hajj rite. They are set to leave for ‘Arafah anytime soon.

16. Makkah Medical Team successfully saved a Nigerian Pilgrim in her seventies from severe brain hemorrhage.

17. Kwara State leads in the death toll for Nigerian pilgrims as two more pilgrims die in Makkah. This has raised the number of Nigerian pilgrims to 8.
