Child to Child Charity Foundation Donates to Widows and Orphans

The road to the two designated places selected to benefit from the benevolence of the students of Esteem Learning Centre Boys College, Lokogoma, Abuja, was rough, dirty, and windy. The road veered off from the popular Mpape junction on the main Zuba-A.Y.A. road axis in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, and it took over 30 minutes to get to the venue. To say the least, the determination of the students to overcome the roughness of the road confirms their passion and their belief in the worthy cause of charity through their noble extracurricular organization, the Child to Child Charity Foundation.
The Child to Child Charity Foundation is one of the numerous charity pet projects of Hajiya Rahmatu Musa Sani, one of the directors of Esteem Learning Centre, Lokogoma, and Ummul Soliha, Mother of Goodness. The organization started with a view to inculcate in the students of the school the spirit of giving and putting smiles on the faces of orphans, widows, and vulnerable Nigerians, regardless of their colour, tribe, or religion.
In furtherance of the Child to Child Charity Foundation’s benevolent gestures, the students were led on Saturday, the 18th day of Ramadan, 1447 AH, by Hajiya Rahmatu Musa Sani, the school’s principal, and other teachers to the premises of Cevat Aydin Darul Amin Children’s Home and Rugar Chairman town hall on Shishimpe Road, by Nukuchi Junction, Mpape, Abuja. They arrived with tons of food items, books, Qurans, and other beneficial items for selected widows of the community and inmates of the children’s home.
During the visit to the selected widows at the town hall, Muhammad Abdullahi Babamanu, the students’ Amir, stated: “Today we are here to give from what Allah has given to us. The Child to Child Charity Foundation was established by Esteem Learning Centre, Boys College Lokogoma, in order to donate money and other resources to the less privileged among us. Ramadan is the month of mercy in which people give to others, and we are trying to gain the favour of Allah by helping and making you happy.” The Head Boy of the school, Master Muhammad Hamman Garandawa, translated the speech into the Hausa language for better understanding by the audience.
Hajiya Rahmatu Musa Sani later explained to the widows that the foodstuffs provided were contributions from the students, adding that the staff were only there to guide them. She urged the widows to continue to pray for the students to reach greater heights. She also encouraged the widows to share the items with others in their immediate environment, as the food packages might not be enough to go around for everyone.
At Cevat Aydin Darul Amin Children’s Boys Home, the supervisor, Malam Yusuf Ibrahim, told PEACE Magazine the home currently houses 82 boys. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the children to Hajiya Musa Sani and the Child to Child Charity Foundation of the Esteem Learning Centre for visiting and checking on the children, as well as for their generous support. The visit also featured welcome and appreciative songs by the pupils and Quran recitation.
In her remarks, the team lead, Hajiya Rahmatu, was full of praise to Allah for giving them the opportunity to again visit the home and the community after a while. She was elated with the well-being of the children and the gestures of her students, who always contribute toward charitable causes. “Alhamdulillah, we are very happy to return again to the home after a long time. We accompanied our boys from Esteem Learning Centre and the Child to Child Charity Foundation,” she said.
The Principal of the school, Mr. Abubakar Ilani, while addressing the children, said: “We know you will grow to become great men and maybe greater than Dangote. In Sha Allah, we also pray that someday you will grow up and support others as well. We want to encourage you to take your education seriously, respect the rules and regulations, and also respect your teachers and the adults taking care of you here. May Almighty Allah make it easy for you to acquire knowledge so that you can be beneficial to the entire Ummah.”
Prayers were offered for the students and their families for more blessings. One of the guests at the gift presentation, Barrister Danganta, also admonished and prayed for the orphans and the students of Child to Child Charity Foundation and Esteem Learning Centre.
The Child to Child Charity Foundation of the Boys College, Esteem Learning Centre, Abuja, has performed other humanitarian services through vocational training for orphans, widows, and less privileged individuals. It has built schools, mosques, and water boreholes. It organizes literacy campaigns and talks, visits hospitals to assist patients, and visits orphanages.
