Al-Habibiyyah, IOU Open Scholarship Pathway for Muslim Students
MoU between the Islamic Centre and Gambia-based university expands access to higher education, professional development and capacity building

Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Open University (IOU), Gambia, to expand opportunities in Islamic education, professional development and human-capacity building.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two institutions, with a focus on widening access to quality education and supporting students and aspiring professionals seeking further academic and professional qualifications.
A key component of the agreement is the provision of scholarship opportunities for eligible beneficiaries, opening new pathways for students within the Islamic community to pursue higher education.
The partnership is also expected to provide a basis for sustained engagement between Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Centre and IOU in areas of education and professional development.
The agreement reflects the Centre’s efforts to broaden access to educational opportunities while strengthening institutional links capable of supporting skills development and academic advancement.
Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Centre said it looked forward to building a productive and lasting relationship with the International Open University through the new framework.
