Ridwan ADK-Osinowo’s ‘Alhamdulillahi Goma-Goma’ Set to Inspire Gratitude Through Art

Abuja’s art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and scholars are set for an immersive journey into Islamic spirituality and artistic expression as Ridwan ADK-Osinowo presents a 3-day exclusive Islamic Art Exhibition tagged “Alhamdulillahi Goma-Goma” (The Art of Appreciation II).

The grand opening ceremony takes place on Tuesday, 11th February 2025 (12th Sha’aban, 1446 AH) at the Art Pavilion, Opposite Radio House, Beside Abuja ICC, Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja, at 2:00 PM. The exhibition runs until Thursday, 13th February 2025, featuring a curated selection of paintings, mixed media, and intricate wood routing, each reflecting the artist’s deep engagement with Islamic calligraphy, gratitude, and cultural heritage.

Rooted in the profound Islamic expression Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), Ridwan ADK-Osinowo’s works invite viewers to contemplate the art of gratitude as a transformative force in life. His unique approach blends Arabic calligraphy, modern artistic techniques, and rich symbolism, showcasing the power of appreciation, spirituality, and creative innovation.

As noted in a past foreword by Abdulfattah Adeyemi, Fellow of the Society of Nigerian Artists, Ridwan ADK-Osinowo is “not just an artist but a versatile creator whose passion for exploration knows no bounds.” His mastery of fiberglass, aluminium, acrylic, and wood makes him “a true innovator in Arabic calligraphy.”

The exhibition’s opening will be graced by distinguished guests and leading figures in governance, law, and Islamic scholarship, including: Special Guests of Honours: Distinguished Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu – Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Heebah Kingibe – Distinguished Senator, FCT. Hajiya (Barr.) Hannatu Musa Musawa – Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture & Creative Economy. Chairman of the Occasion: Professor Yusuf Ali, SAN, FCIArb – Principal Partner, Ghalib Chambers. Spiritual Fathers: Imam Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari – Chief Imam, National Mosque, Abuja. Dr. Musa Olaofe – Chief Imam, Ansar-Ud-Deen Mosque, Abuja.

The exhibition is designed for art enthusiasts, cultural scholars, policymakers, and thought leaders seeking to explore the intersection of art, faith, and intellectual discourse. The event offers a chance to engage with stunning visual tafseer (Qur’anic interpretation) and the deeper narratives embedded in Islamic artistic traditions.
