Palestine Blames US for Enabling Gaza Tragedy as Death Toll Surges

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has accused the United States of facilitating the ongoing devastation in the Gaza Strip, citing unwavering American support for Israel as a critical factor behind the continued violence.

Over 43,800 lives, predominantly women and children, have been lost, and more than 103,600 individuals injured in relentless Israeli assaults since Hamas’s attack last October.

“The US administration bears full responsibility for this bloody aggression due to its political cover for the Israeli occupation,” declared PA spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh. He added that American support emboldens Israel to sidestep accountability and disregard international legal resolutions.

The spokesman condemned Israel’s actions as genocidal, fueled by what he described as Washington’s unwavering backing. “Israeli forces are translating this support into massacres, with mass killings targeting women and children,” Abu Rudeineh asserted.

Sunday’s Israeli airstrikes killed at least 96 Palestinians and injured 60 others in Gaza’s northern and central regions, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Gaza remains under siege, with residents deprived of food, medicine, and fuel as Israel’s ground operations intensify.

The PA called on Washington to pressure Israel to cease its attacks, warning of regional instability. “If this bloodshed continues, the entire region risks being engulfed in flames,” Abu Rudeineh cautioned.

Palestinian health authorities report over 2,000 deaths since Israel launched its latest military campaign in northern Gaza, an area critics believe Israel seeks to occupy under the guise of targeting Hamas.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel’s actions persist. The International Court of Justice is now considering a genocide case against the Israeli government, amplifying global scrutiny of the ongoing crisis.
