Minaret University: Ahmadiyya Starts University

This week Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Nigeria is taking her immense contributions to the educational sector of Nigeria, to lofty heights, as it launches the Minaret University, with the Motto: Seeking Knowledge for the Benefit of Humanity. It will also presents to the academic community, Professor Abdur-Rahman Oladele Abdullah, a Professor of Animal Breeding, Quantitative Genetics and Biometrics as the first Vice Chancellor of the University.
Minaret University (MU), located in Ikirun, Osun State, is a forward-thinking institution committed to providing entrepreneurial and pragmatic education through hands-on training and a work-study approach. It addresses educational gaps in Agriculture, Science, and Technology with a vision to produce graduates capable of impacting both national and global development. It has exceptional programs, modern facilities, and a dedicated staff to deliver a world-class performance in University education in Nigeria and beyond.
It is established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria with the vision, to pursue moral and intellectual development for creativity, entrepreneurship, adaptability and survival of the university graduates. The University’s mission is to become a world-class tertiary institution for the intellectual and manpower development of human resources for sustainable socioeconomic development regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The Minaret University (MU) will uphold academic excellence, tolerance, inclusivity, cultural respect and combine theoretical depth with practical skills and research. The University’s main thrust shall be the production of holistic human resources (total man) for the development of agriculture, appropriate infrastructures, immediate developmental needs of the nation and a learning conducive environment for the present generation and beyond. Similarly, produce well rounded graduates who drive innovation, job creation and national development. To promotes entrepreneurship and practical research and Provide accessible education for all, especially underprivileged studentsand uphold strict moral standards and a safe campus environment.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at prides itself as being a foremost Islamic organization that propagates Islamic teachings, emphasis knowledge through Western and Islamic education and fosters peaceful coexistence in the country. Her mode of dawah and successes transcended many generations and are characterized by sound Islamic knowledge, promotion of scholarships from primary education, to secondary schools, love, and sacrifice for humanity. Her organizational brilliance in promoting Islam in harmony within the nation’s human endeavours is remarkable. Her dedication to the promotion of knowledge and growth of human capital has continued to make her a valuable resource for Islamic propagation in Nigeria. Mirza Masroor Ahmad is the current and fifth leader of the Ahmadyya Muslim Community in the world; while Alhaj (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso AbdulAzeez, is the current Amir (National Head) of the organisation in Nigeria.
