Jaiz Takaful Insurance Limited Honours Staff in Long Service Award and Gift Ceremony

Jaiz Takaful Insurance Limited held its annual Long Service Award and Gift Ceremony to honour the dedication and commitment of its employees. Hosted by the Board of Directors and Management, the event recognized staff who have served the company for five or more years, alongside special recognition for two outgoing team members who made remarkable contributions to the company’s growth.

The ceremony commenced with a warm introduction of the Board members, including the Chairperson, Hajia Zainab Abdulrahman, who was accompanied by Dr. Imam Abdullahi Shuaib, Engineer Garba Abubakar Muhammad, Managing Director Ibrahim Usman Shehu, and Barrister Haroun Eze. This distinguished lineup underscored the importance of the event and the collective support of the Board for Jaiz Takaful’s employees.

In his welcome address, MD/CEO Ibrahim Usman Shehu reflected on the significance of the ceremony, stating, “As employees, we spend a significant portion of our lives at the office, sometimes even more than we do with our own families. This ceremony is our way of acknowledging the invaluable contributions made by our staff to the success of this organization.” He recalled the previous award ceremony and affirmed the company’s commitment to recognizing employees’ hard work and loyalty, which has cemented Jaiz Takaful’s position as a frontrunner in the Takaful insurance market.

The MD noted Jaiz Takaful’s achievement as one of the most profitable companies in the industry, a milestone made possible through the concerted efforts of the entire team. He assured employees that their contributions were seen and valued, with the Board and Management determined to foster an environment where everyone’s hard work is celebrated. Addressing the outgoing employees, he extended his best wishes, expressing mixed emotions as he honour those who had been essential to Jaiz Takaful’s success.

Chairperson Hajia Zainab Abdulrahman echoed these sentiments, highlighting the Board’s intention to make the Long Service Award a tradition, reinforcing the culture of recognition within Jaiz Takaful. She emphasized the importance of showing appreciation, noting, “Without you, there is no Jaiz Takaful Insurance. We recognize your efforts and want you to know that the Board truly values the dedication you bring to this organization.” She shared the Board’s vision of incorporating employees’ families in future celebrations to strengthen the support system around each employee and create a community atmosphere.

The event proceeded with heartfelt award presentations to staff members celebrating five years with the company. Each recipient was recognized for their loyalty and significant contributions:

Nafisa Abubakar, Celebrated for her initiative and confidence, Nafisa received special recognition from MD Ibrahim Usman-Sheikh, who personally selected her award in acknowledgment of her contributions to the marketing department over the past five years. Her plaque, presented with genuine admiration, symbolizes the positive impact she has had on Jaiz Takaful’s growth.

Barrister Haroun Eze presented Auwal Sulaiman with his award, commending his dedicated service in the accounts department. Awalu was celebrated for his unwavering commitment, with prayers and blessings for continued success in his role.

As the head of marketing, Mustapha Shehu received his award from the Board and Management for his dedication and impactful contributions. His award was accompanied by a token of appreciation, representing a vote of confidence in his future endeavors with Jaiz Takaful.

Additional awards were reserved for two absent honorees, Abdulrazaq Musa and Ahmed Usman Shehu, who were unable to attend due to other commitments. The MD assured that their plaques and gifts would be presented at a later date.

The ceremony also honored two outgoing employees, Abubakar Abdulrahman and Barrister Umar Jibril, whose service to Jaiz Takaful has left an indelible mark on the organization. Abubakar Abdulrahman, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, was unable to attend due to a family bereavement. Meanwhile, Barrister Umar Jibril received his parting award from his mentor, Engineer Garba Abubakar Muhammad, marking the conclusion of a successful tenure at Jaiz Takaful.

The Long Service Award and Gift Ceremony not only celebrated the company’s achievements but also reaffirmed Jaiz Takaful’s commitment to fostering a supportive and appreciative workplace culture. Through these honors, the company continues to inspire loyalty, dedication, and a sense of purpose among its employees.

 As the event concluded, MD Ibrahim Usman-Shehu shared a hopeful vision for the future, promising greater rewards for employees’ efforts and ongoing recognition of their invaluable contributions. “Maybe next time, someone might even take away an airplane!” he joked, encapsulating the spirit of appreciation that permeated the day.
