Iran’s Prosecutor-General Calls for Greater Unity Among Islamic Nations
By Abdullahi Yusuf
Iran’s Prosecutor-General, Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, has emphasized the need for increased unity and cooperation among Islamic nations to effectively confront shared adversaries.
Montazeri made this call during a meeting with Khalifa bin Said bin Khalifa Al-Busaidi, president of the Supreme Court of the Sultanate of Oman, in Tehran on Saturday. He underscored that stronger solidarity among Islamic countries, especially those in the Persian Gulf region, is crucial for safeguarding their national and Islamic values against external threats.
“The more solidarity there is among Islamic nations, the more effective we will be in ensuring security and defending our values,” Montazeri stated. He pointed to the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, arguing that greater unity among Islamic countries could have prevented such atrocities.
In response, Al-Busaidi acknowledged that Islamic nations have not fully met their responsibilities in addressing these challenges, calling for more collective action to address the pressing issues facing the region.
