Iranian commander claims missile arsenal exceeds enemy estimates
Senior military official says Tehran’s weapons capability is greater than adversaries assume amid escalating conflict with the United States and Israel

A senior Iranian military commander has said the Islamic Republic’s missile capabilities are far more extensive than its adversaries believe, warning that the country’s armed forces are prepared to respond to threats through military action rather than rhetoric.
Major General Abdollahi, chief of the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, said in recent remarks that what he described as “American and Zionist enemies” were operating under serious miscalculations about Iran’s military strength.
According to Abdollahi, Iran’s weapons systems have advanced significantly in recent years and the country’s operational capabilities have been shaped by experience gained from previous conflicts.
“The Iranian Armed Forces respond to threats through action on the battlefield rather than rhetoric,” the commander said.
He dismissed claims that foreign intelligence services have an accurate understanding of Iran’s missile inventory.
“The enemy has repeatedly claimed it knows the number of Iran’s missiles,” he said. “They should count them on the battlefield to realize they know nothing about the reality.”
The commander said Iran would continue its military response until adversaries reconsider their actions.
Abdollahi also accused opposing forces of targeting civilians, including students and families in their homes, while insisting that Iran’s strikes focus on military installations and strategic targets.
Tensions have escalated sharply since the assassination of Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, along with several senior Iranian commanders and civilians in an attack on February 28 that Tehran has blamed on the United States and Israel.
Iran’s armed forces have since launched waves of missile and drone strikes against American and Israeli-linked positions, including targets in the occupied territories and regional military facilities.
The conflict has involved extensive airstrikes across Iran, resulting in significant casualties and damage to infrastructure.
Iranian officials have argued that attacks on civilian areas constitute violations of international humanitarian law and have accused the United States and Israel of committing war crimes.
