Iran Slams UAE Over Missile Claims

Iran has strongly denied accusations by the United Arab Emirates that it launched missile and drone attacks on targets inside the Gulf nation, while warning Abu Dhabi against cooperating with hostile powers.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected the allegations as unfounded and said Tehran remains committed to the principles of the United Nations Charter, international law, and good neighbourly relations with countries in the region. The statement was shared by the Iranian Embassy in India on X.

Tehran also urged the UAE not to continue what it described as cooperation with the United States and Israel in actions that threaten Iran’s security and interests.
Iran accused Abu Dhabi of abandoning the principle of good neighbourliness during a period of heightened regional tension linked to U.S. military activity and naval movements.

Despite that, the ministry said Iran had shown restraint and acted responsibly in the interest of regional stability and the wider Islamic world.
Officials insisted that any defensive measures taken by Iran’s armed forces were aimed solely at countering U.S. actions and not directed at the UAE.

The statement added that Iran would not hesitate to take necessary steps to protect its national interests and security if required.

The exchange follows a sharp response from the UAE Foreign Ministry, which had earlier condemned what it called renewed Iranian aggression involving missiles and drones.

The dispute came after recent strikes on Fujairah, a key energy and shipping hub on the UAE’s eastern coast. Iran had already denied involvement and cautioned against any retaliatory action launched from Emirati territory.
