Hajj Flakes – 5th Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH

1. After 18 days of operations, Nigeria yesterday concluded the 2026 Hajj airlift with 38,888 pilgrims transported to Saudi Arabia across 98 flights under the coordination of NAHCON.
2. A joint National Assembly Hajj Committee has commended NAHCON over what it described as improved coordination and service delivery during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
   
   
3. The lawmakers led by Ali Ndume visited Nigerian pilgrims’ hotels in Madinah and inspected accommodation and welfare services provided for pilgrims.
4. Senator Ndume says the 2026 Hajj operations have recorded better synergy among stakeholders and stronger operational coordination compared to the previous year.
5. The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Board has commenced the distribution of two main luggage bags to each of its 965 pilgrims in Makkah.
   
   
6. The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has also distributed two 23kg main luggage bags to each pilgrim as preparations continue for the movement to Mina and other holy sites.
7. Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah says preparations for the next Hajj season begin even before the current exercise concludes.
8. Al-Rabiah says planning for the 1448 AH Hajj season will commence from the 12th of Dhul Hijjah through meetings with Hajj affairs offices and service providers.
9. The minister disclosed that Saudi authorities have been coordinating operational plans with 78 countries covering accommodation, transportation, feeding, aviation and crowd management arrangements.
10. Saudi authorities have warned pilgrims against random group walking at the holy sites, stressing that movement outside approved transportation arrangements could affect safety and traffic flow.
    
11. Pilgrims have also been advised to remain inside Arafat camps during peak heat hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to rising temperatures.
12. Saudi authorities say more than 45,600 air conditioners in Mina tents have now been replaced with advanced cooling systems imported from Australia ahead of the peak Hajj days.
