Eid Al-Fitr: Saudi Arabia holds prayers 15 minutes after sunrise – Islamic minister

By Ajayi Sodiq

Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, has ordered all ministry branches around the Kingdom to hold Eid Al-Fitr prayers fifteen minutes after sunrise, following the Umm Al-Qura calendar.

The minister gave the ministry branches instructions in a circular that stated that Eid Al-Fitr prayers should be held at public prayer areas, in all mosques (apart from those that are next to prayer areas), and in some towns and village centres that aren’t used for Eid prayers.

Al-Sheikh emphasized how crucial it is to plan for Eid Al-Fitr prayers in advance and ensure that all necessary facilities—such as upkeep, cleaning, and operation—are available so that worshippers can carry out their rituals with maximum ease and comfort.

The minister instructed within the parameters of the assistance that the ministry gets from the astute leadership for the upkeep of God’s houses, which is to provide all the services necessary for worshipers to carry out their rituals in a setting of holiness and spirituality.
