1. Dr. Salih bin Zain Al-Abidin Al-Shaibi, ‎the guardian of the Ka’bah and keeper of its key passed away this morning June 22 2024. He was the 109th person to keep the key after the companion Uthmān ibn Talha. He was prayed upon in the Masjidil Harām buried in Al Mualla Cemetery.

2. Tunisia sacks her Minister for Religious Affairs due to 49 Hajj casualties reported for the country in Saudi Arabia.

3. The first wave of Iraqi pilgrims left the Kingdom today through Jadidat Arar border crossing, following the completion of their Hajj rituals.

4. Saudi ‎Interior Ministry announces the absence of security infractions in this year’s Hajj season.

5. Makkah locals have been praised for their fluency in many languages. This is due to interactions with people from around the world during the annual Hajj season.

6. More than 500 facilities in Al Madīnah inspected ahead of pilgrims’ influx from Hajj. A dedicated hotline (988) was launched to report infractions.

7. The Madinah Health Cluster has launched an awareness campaign to educate visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque about heat stress, coinciding with increasing temperatures in the region. On its first day of inception, the health cluster distributed to visitors 3,500 bags of ice, 10,300 water bottles, 4,850 umbrellas, and 3,297 medical kits.

8. Pilgrims continue to troop to Al Madīnah after completing their Hajj through the Hijrah Road and the Haramain High-Speed Railway.

9. In order to achieve her goal of distributing a million copies of the Qur’ān as gifts to departing pilgrims, Saudi Arabia has so far distributed 60,000 copies at the Jadidat Arar border crossing; 25,000 copies at Madinah and Yanbu airports; 20,000 copies at Al Wadiah border; 14,000 copies at King Fahd Causeway Port and plans to distribute over 41,000 copies across her eastern borders.

10. Pilgrims who have finished their Hajj rites and moved to Al Madīnah pray their first Friday prayers after the Hajj at the Prophet’s Mosque.

11. Over 2,000 trips for the elderly and pilgrims with disabilities were successfully conducted through the electric scooter initiative in this year’s Hajj exercise in Makkah and the holy sites.

12. A royal directive has been given to reduce the Khutbah for Friday prayers to around 15 minutes at the Masjidil Harām in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Al Madīnah until the end of the summer season.

13. Az Zamazima company plans to gift 1.6 million bottles of chilled Zamzam water to departing pilgrims at Makkah exit points to Jeddah and Al Madīnah .

14. Saudi Arabia prepares technical infrastructure at the Kingdom’s entry points as she gears up to receive Umrah performers from all over the world.

15. Lessons learnt from the Hajj exercise for 2024 will be implemented in Hajj 2025 – NAHCON Chairman

16. NAHCON begs pilgrims not to add additional Zamzam water to their cargo and promises delivery of 5 litres of the holy water to Nigeria on behalf of every Nigerian pilgrim.

17. The first return flight to Nigeria left Jeddah at 12:50 PM Nigerian time with 310 FCT pilgrims and 7 Officials.

18. Another flight kicked off in Jeddah with 410 Kebbi State at exactly 3:49PM on the way to Birnin-Kebbi

19. The first batch of Lagos State pilgrims will depart on the same flight alongside Kebbi state pilgrims on Sunday, June 23.
