Daily Hajj Flakes 6/7: Friday 1 Dhul-Hijjah 1445 – June 7, 2024

1. Saudi Arabia confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon yesterday, announces Friday, June 7 as 1st of Dhul Hijjah, declares Yaumul ‘Arafah and Eīd ul Adhā as falling on Saturday and Sunday June 15 and 16 respectively.

2. 1.2 million pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia since yesterday.

3. A 104-year-old Iraqi woman Kazimiya Hatim has been identified as the oldest Hajj pilgrim to visit the Kingdom for this year’s Hajj exercise.

4. Three medical emergency centers operated by the Makkah Medical Complex have been provided in the Masjidil Harām in Makkah to serve pilgrims in this Hajj season.

5. Makkah police have arrested four individuals 2 Saudi citizens and 2 Pakistani residents for promoting counterfeit Hajj permits and visas on social media.

6. Water Transmission and Technologies Company in Saudi Arabia have completed all preparations for this year’s Hajj season to supply Makkah, Al Madīnah, and the holy sites with enough water for pilgrims’ use. Makkah to receive 1.3 million cubic meters daily while Al Madīnah will be supplied with 1.4 million cubic meters per day.

7. 251 golf carts have been to transport 35,000 Hajj pilgrims daily in Masjid al-Haram

8. Saudi authorities have sentenced 8 violators of Hajj rules caught transporting individuals without permit into Makkah. They were sentenced to a jail term of 15 days, confiscation of their vehicles, a fine of 10,000 Riyals for each violator transported, deportation and ban from entering the kingdom for a specific time for expatriates among them.

9. Saudi ambassadors in Chad, Tajikistan and Bosnia bid farewell to citizens selected as part of the 1,300 guests from 88 countries hosted by the Saudi Royal Family for this year’s Hajj and Umrah exercise.

10. Over 35,000 Nigerian pilgrims have reached Makkah while over 9,000 are currently in Al Madīnah.

11. NAHCON comes to the aid of private Hajj operators, helps to process 12,277 Hajj visas despite some late payments.

12. 553 pilgrims from Katsina State were airlifted to Al Madīnah yesterday at 6:05PM.

13. A FlyNas airplane that left Sokoto at 5:15AM today with 424 Sokoto State pilgrims landed at exactly 1:48PM in Al Madīnah.

14. Another FlyNas flight departed Kebbi via Lagos with 197 Kebbi pilgrims and 5 officials at 12:15PM to Al Madīnah. Also with them was the Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris to perform Hajj.

15. The 110th NAHCON flight was airlifted at Minna carrying 425 pilgrims and 5 officials from Niger State at 12:45PM. Its destination being Al Madīnah.

16. 95% of Nigerian pilgrims airlifted to Saudi Arabia in 110 flights.
