Ceremony in Yemen Honours 500 Qur’an School Students

The Martyr of the Qur’an School for Islamic Sciences at al-Firdaws Mosque in Shu’ub district of Sana’a held its inaugural honouring ceremony, celebrating the achievements of 500 students from the Generation of the Qur’an schools in Yemen for the year 1446 AH.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Fahd al-Azzi, Deputy Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, and Khaled al-Madani, First Undersecretary of the Capital Sana’a. Scholar al-Azzi Rajih commended the efforts of those involved in the Qur’an circles, highlighting their role in instilling divine guidance among students and fostering a strong Qur’anic culture in society.

Rajih emphasized the importance of Qur’an memorization and education as a means to empower the youth with the teachings of Islam and protect them from negative influences. He encouraged students to continue pursuing knowledge and embodying the principles of the Qur’an in their lives.

During the ceremony, student Abdulqadir al-Rashidi spoke on behalf of his peers, reflecting on the skills and religious knowledge they gained, which equip them to counter destructive ideologies through Qur’an circles established in 25 mosques, including those focused on memorizing and reciting the Holy Qur’an.

The ceremony featured various performances and was attended by key figures in the education sector, community leaders, and parents. A documentary film was also showcased, detailing the launch of the Martyr of the Qur’an School and its initiatives over the past year.
